"So you didn't make it huh?"
The long awaited "Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" covered what we should assume to be the majority (if not the complete) of Lockes time off island. As with Meet Kevin Johnson, the episode contained a big old flashback sandwiched between 2 short on island portions.....
On island part 1
Caesar is shown rumaging through a dark room (soon shown to be the Hydra island-Jack, Kate and Sawyer early s3 if you didnt remember), finding what looks like some pages from Daniel's journal! I like both Caesar and Ilanas characters already (she has a touch of the Ana-Lucia about her i think), he seems to be searching for something specific in that room, what was it? Locke is then revealed to be alive! (we all knew that was gonna happen right?). AND Ilana reveals 2 boats, very similar to those seen in "The Little Prince", the pilot and "a woman" (Sun?) have already taken one, i dont think it would be too much of a crazy theory to guess Caesar/Ilana is the person Juliet shot...
John meets Widmore
Loved this convo, after the excrutiatingly painful operation! Even more murky now as to who is good/bad, I was so sure Ben was "good" and I still am...but only just...Widmore tells John Ben exiled him from the island. Not sure we can believe this one. Richard seems like Jacob/the Islands right hand man, and it didnt seem as though he got on with Widders, so what happened there? Was he really their leader? Locke should have pressed him more on the "war" coming!
John meets Abbadon
Widmore introduces John to his driver, none other than my favourite actor in the world Lance Reddick (Daniels in the Wire)! I love his character and I was gutted when he died, some great dialogue between him and Locke before Ben shot him up good and proper. Hoping that is not the last we'll see of him.
John meets Sayid
John and driver mission it to the Dominican Republic, where Sayid is a charity worker building a house! This is a long way from the crazed, paranoid Sayid we saw in the s4 finale/early s5. What happened in between? And what went on between Ben and Sayid to make them fall out? Both key questions imo
John meets Walt-"The Boys Gotten Big"
I seriously hope we see more Walt, but im worried we wont. Loved the mention of Micheal, i am still holding out for seeing his charcter again. And Ben seeing them was awesome.
John meets Hurley
This was classic, Hurley assuming he was dead was comedy gold! Hurley then freaked out upon seeing Abbadon.
John meets Kate
This was a very cold scene, she was so horrible to him, very disdaining and patronising. Does she think Sawyer is even alive? He doesnt even get a mention from Locke, which is a bit of a waste of a huge potential persuasive tactic...
John meets Helen...well sort of...
After denying he knew of her wherabouts, Abbadon then manages to rummage up a grave in Santa Monia. Everyone (all the recappers) thinks this was faked. I agree.
John meets Jack
Another Jac/Locke showdown. Lockes Christian comment was the first we saw of him actually making any sort of impact!
John meets Ben
Brilliant scene between 2 amazing actors. Lots of questions arise as to why Ben didnt just let Locke kill himself. Was he always going there to kill him, or did he pop to the shops to buy that bleach? Did Ben think the island wouldnt have him back if he committed suicide? Was it the mention of Hawking that got to Ben? Also, how long had passed between the scene with Jack, and him killing himself?
On island 2
We go back to the island, where Caesar has assumed leadership status almost. Locke checks out the injured people and sees Ben!
LaFleur is the last episode im gonna be able to watch before Im away for 10 weeks! Here's hoping West African internet is better than its made out to be!!!
Lafleur is apaz Sawyer centric.
