Mylo is pretty much the best maker of chillout dance music around. His album "Destroy rock and roll" is one of my favourite dance albums for sure, its an album to be listened to in the summer, chilling out in the sun. i am getting stupidly excited for friday now. part 1 was such a classic lost build up episode. the flashforwards were brilliant, every single one, especially sun cussing down mr paik (who is blates involved with widmore), she must have had some help in buying a share in the company (ben anyone?). also, although not sure just how claires mum is alive, thought the scene where she told jack was brilliant, he acted it pretty well, and when she said "your baby is beautiful" to kate, it was so goood!! of course the numbers turning up again was great, and the press conference, and nadia!! ah too much goodness. on the island, i loved the jack-sawyer team up, daniel finally actually helping the losties, the michael-jin-sun moment, dessie going crazy on the boat, ben just generally having a plan which is bound to be wicked, the return of the others!!! how reminiscent was that scene of "the hunting party" from season 2 when tom makes the classic speech "this is our island". i hope the others are headed for the orchid (pretty sure they are tbh) for a big showdown with keamys crew (even though the others have surely lost all of their best fighters; pickett, ryan, tom, mikhail, goodwin, ethan etc etc). i am convinced jin will die now, and im pretty sure michael will do some sort of heroics which will allow him to die, which would be realllly annoying. its so good trying to work out how the o6 will all come together, when they are in 4 different places (hurley with locke at the orchid, jack with sawyer headed for the orchid, kate and sayid kidnapped, aaron and sun on the boat) i have a really bad feeling that sawyer might die as well :S really hope not, he has been underused this series, and after the writers strike break he has been the best character for sure.

i knoooooow this much is true. classic cheesy 80s music. this has been sampled by nelly, backstreet boys, fleetwood mac, cary brothers, black eyed peas, amongst others, its a classic pop song from 1983, with lots of motown influences in there. it has appeared in the wedding singer, charlies angels, 50 first dates, not another teen movie, wedding crashers as well as shameless, the office, the simpsons, ugly betty, spaced, two pints...etc... Words cant describe just how good this album is. Written in a remote cabin within 3 months, the album combines beautiful chords with lyrical heartbreak making one of the contenders for album of the year already.... He sounds very similar to Iron and Wine (who is pretty goood) but 10 times better. He supported Iron and Wine on his recent UK tour, unfortunately i heard this album a week after they played leadmill...bad luck or what... anyway, here are a couple of tracks Bon Iver-Skinny love Bon Iver-Flume

As you probably already know, Milburn announced they were splitting in March, with 2 final gigs this week, the second at the new Academy in Sheffield this Saturday. To commemorate probably the most important band (ok maybe 2nd most) of my life, i will post a milburn song every day of the week. Milburn made amazing music, and with better promotion and media support they could have broken the charts, not that that was vitally important, most of the chart indie at the moment (pigeon detectives, ting tings, courteeners etc) are nothing on milburn. the first time old skool monday has gone for full on cheesy r&b, back in the days when usher made good pop songs!! "Pop Ya Collar" is a 2001 single from Usher's leaked 2001 unofficial album All About U, which was later put on some editions of his official studio album that year, called 8701. It reached #2 on the UK Singles Chart. It was inspired by the upturned collar, and helped make the term "popped collar" a popular culture "buzzword". Santogold has just released her debut album, and its amazing!!! In the style of MIA, but with (:o) better beats id say. Producers include diplo, switch and freq nasty. You may know her from the Vo5 advert, the song is Creator. She is sort of a mixture of hip-hop, electro and rock, very original, very refreshing, absolutely brilliant. its been far too long since i talked about LOST! Although something nice back home was one of the weaker episodes this season, i think it was still excellent. Sawyer and Miles continue to kill it, and Juliet was surprisingly likeable this episode! loved the Jin/Charlotte bit as well. there have been some amazing recaps on darkufo this week. I was debating with myself over a number of bands i could have in this weeks old skool monday. it came down to coldplay and death cab, both would have been pretty relevant, as violet hill was made available last week, and narrow stairs leaked, and i will possess your heart is out today. anyways, i went for death cab, and prove my hypothesis, their first ever single. apparently this song is about a drummer leaving a band, possibly Nathan Good leaving Death Cab? or some people think its about the Thermals drummer leaving them? i dont know, but because its written by the ultimate relationship commentator, their are clear connotations of a bitter end to a relationship (whether romantic or not). This is Death Cab at their distorted best, and as Ben does so often in Death Cabs early years (e.g. for what reason, champagne..., your bruise etc etc) the lyrics are "bent with bitterness".
